Managing Director - Shaleeza Shaw
Shaleeza Shaw is the Managing Director of Opulent Consultancy Inc. She served in various capacities as former Junior Vice President, Secretary and Council member of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) which was established in 1889. Currently, she is the Chairperson of the Chamber’s Green Economy Committee.
She holds a Diploma in Banking and Finance, a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Business Management and a Bachelor of Laws (all with distinction) from the University of Guyana. Ms Shaw is also a Certified Credit Professional with Jamaica Institute of Financial Services & The Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland along with a Master in Business Administration – Chartered Banker (with Distinction) from The Bangor University, Wales.
She has served the banking sector for over 33 years having held former portfolios as the Chief Executive Officer (ag), Head of Credit, Corporate Secretary, and Legal and Recoveries Manager of the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry Limited, and Manager of the Main Branch of Demerara Bank Limited.
In addition, she serves on a number of state boards as a Private Sector representative. She is the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Natural Resource Fund, and a Director on the boards of Guyana Sugar Corporation, National Communications Network (NCN) and the Income Tax –Board of Review of the Guyana Revenue Authority.
She was appointed Treasurer of the inaugural India Guyana Chamber of Commerce on 19.4.2023
In her spare time, Ms Shaw also does volunteer work with the Shaheed’s Boys and Girls Orphanage; West La Penitence, Middle Road, Sideline Dam and Independence Boulevard (West) Community Group and Green Acres Home Association.

GCCI has over 740 members in over 7 jurisdictions of diverse business backgrounds. GCCI advocates for businesses and builds networking locally and globally. The Chambers is the oldest and most active one in Guyana having been established in 1889.
